Anyone in the world By Anna Hardy Constipation is the name given to the condition in which a person finds difficulty in passing stools. Ideally, a person must void the wastes of the digestive tract one or two times a day. But in people suffering from constipation, this elimination of wastes becomes highly reduced, or may even be absent for several days together. Constipation can be the reduction of the normal volume of feces voided, the complete absence of discharge or sticky discharge that the person has difficulty in passing out. In all cases, there is Ayurvedic treatment. Constipation is not a very dangerous ailment if treated properly in time. But if let be, then constipation can become chronic. Especially in elderly people, constipation for a prolonged period can be fatal. From an Ayurvedic point of view, constipation is a disease caused particularly by the vitiation of the vata dosha. It is called as Anaha in Ayurveda. But the other two doshas can also be responsible for constipation. Constipation caused due to a high pitta dosha is characterized by dry stools. It is felt mostly in the hot months. Constipation caused due to a high kapha dosha is accompanied by pains in passing out the feces, which are sticky. In people with kapha vitiation, the excessive mucus may block the rectal passage which will obstruct the elimination of the wastes. (1) Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Constipation - Bael fruit (Aegle marmelos) The fruit of the bael is an effective laxative. The ripe fruit is better at this than the raw one. It has to be used for two to three months. It can be taken in the form of a sherbet. This will dissolve the wastes of the intestines and flush them out of the body. - Belleric Myroblan (Terminalia belerica) The half ripe fruit of the belleric myroblan is a purgative. It is used in treatment of chronic constipation. However the fully ripe fruit may be disadvantageous to the treatment. - Cassia (Cassia fistula) The pulp of the ripe fruit of the cassia tree is an effective laxative in the treatment of constipation. This remedy is popular because it has no side effects even when taken by children and pregnant women. - Castor (Ricinus communis) Castor oil is effective as a purgative. This treatment also has no side effects. It can be taken safely, irrespective of the physiology of the patient and the climatic conditions. - Chebulic Myroblan (Terminalia chebula) Chebulic myroblan is a mild laxative. Its pulp is taken with rock salt, or flavored with cloves and cinnamon. Regular use of this decoction relieves the person of constipation. - Chicory (Chichorium intybus) Chicory has natural laxative powers. It can be used in the treatment of chronic constipation problems. - Isphagula (Plantago ovata) This is the traditionally used remedy in the treatment of constipation. The seeds of this plant have a soothing effect on the mucus lining of the alimentary canal. The seeds must be soaked in water and then taken. Isphagula seeds act by binding the wastes in the alimentary canal and bringing them to a consistency in which they can be eliminated from the body. - Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) Licorice is a laxative. In order to get better benefits, licorice powder is taken with water and jaggery. - Rhubarb (Rheum emodi) Rhubarb is also commonly used in allopathic medicine for its purgative properties. Rhubarb contains several tannins that are beneficial in voiding the wastes from the alimentary canal. But rhubarb can be used only in simple cases of constipation, and it has no effect in chronic constipation. (2) Dietary Treatments for Constipation There are many dietary guidelines for people suffering from constipation. The following are some of them:- - Water is very important to keep the intestines working well. Drink a glass of water early in the morning. For better results, keep the water overnight in a copper vessel and drink it when you wake up in the morning. - The food that you consume should not be too dry. It should be vata pacifying. Hence it must contain adequate amounts of oil or ghee in it. - Take a glassful of warm milk with a teaspoonful of ghee in it when going to bed. - Avoid rice. Take wheat instead. - Fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables must be an integral part of the diet. Papaya and sugarcane are especially beneficial. Tomato and beetroot salads are also very beneficial. - Avoid beans, legumes, grams, cabbages, mushrooms and such foods which are difficult to digest. (3) Ayurvedic Treatment for Constipation - The Triphala Choorna is commonly prescribed. It contains a mixture of the three important fruits of amalaki, belleric myroblan and chebulic myroblan. - Medicines such as Agastya Rasayana, Pancha Sakara Choorna, Abhayadi Modaka, Madhu Yashthayadi Choorna, can strengthen the intestinal valves and hence improve their functions. These treatments are even prescribed in cases of chronic constipation. - There are some special therapies Ayurveda uses in order to treat the condition of constipation. These therapies are:- a) Vashthi Karma (enema therapy) b) Virechana Karma (purgation therapy) - In addition, a massage of the abdominal muscles, known as the Udavartana, is also employed if the constipation is chronic. This makes the intestinal muscles stronger and work better in dispelling the wastes. (4) Home Medications - Every morning when you wake up, eat two apples. Bite them with the teeth instead of using a knife to cut them into slices. - Drink a glass of water with a teaspoonful of honey in it at night before going to bed. - The best and simplest medicine is to drink a glass of lemon juice in water with a pinch of salt in it. This will treat any kind of constipation that may be present. Read More on Constipation Cure by Ayurveda and Constipation Home Remedies at http://www.ayushveda.com

Anyone in the world By Michael Tummillo Tea-totalling Texans? Them's fightin' words! I live in a small Texas town which is probably not all that different from a small town anywhere else. Lately, much has been reported by the local media and debated at city council meetings regarding liquor licensing. When ever these types of issues are discussed, some self-appointed Christian representatives will speak up, supposedly on behalf of all the rest of us, and heatedly expound upon the awful vice of drinking alcohol and what a demon-magnet that can be. I recently said to a young lady who told me she couldn't go anywhere where drinking took place, "You'd better leave the state of Texas...and stop attending professional baseball games while you're at it." I may as well have said, "Mother Teresa, you'd better leave Calcutta! There are lepers all over the place!" If the light of the world (you and me, according to Jesus) leaves the darkness, the darkness remains dark. My question to Christians everywhere, whenever we're confronted with a "sinful" act or attitude that we don't appreciate, is this: "When is the right time for casting that stone?" The truth hurts. But KNOWING it will set us free. Several years ago, a downcast young lady approached me, asking if I'd officiate her wedding. It seems that she and her mate - apparently her husband - let it leak that they'd never had a traditional wedding and had been cohabitating for about 2 years. They had a nice home, all debts were combined, and they held good jobs. In their eyes, they were married and moving along as a couple, facing the business of life. One night, the couple received a surprise visit from their church leaders, were reprimanded and told they should stop "shacking up." Now, before we go any further, I'm not condoning that couples should live with each other outside of wedlock, nor am I condemning those who do. It is NOT recommended because, statistically, those who DO live together before marriage have a much higher incidence of divorce (let's forget the fact that 50% of all Christian marriages are ending in divorce anyway AND that, in anonymous surveys, nearly 50% of Christians admit to having had premarital sex). Question for these church leaders: Before we point another accusing finger at a Christian couple, can we talk about YOUR sins? Doubt, unbelief, overeating, rage, criticism, gossip, plus the fact that nearly half of all ministers surveyed admit to viewing porn regularly not to mention substance abuses and adultery...all are equal in the eyes of God and required the sending of His only begotten Son to become our Savior. Incidentally, I agreed to take this couple through 6 weeks of pre-marital counseling and officiated their lovely wedding. Later, they had a baby together. They have since moved on to become part of a different congregation. You see, we can cast stones at those who drink alcohol - or those who do anything else that "WE" might consider to be wrong - all we want to. Who will be brow-beating us as we stuff our chubby cheeks? Who will judge us using the same measure with which they are judged themselves? The standard is Jesus, friends. Not the unholy trinity of Me, Myself and I. What the Good Book says I contend that we should funnel everything through Scripture, preferably, through the teachings of Christ, allowing the many verses on a particular subject to define the one proof text, not requiring the one proof text to trump the many. Personally, I can't help but believe that all the oats, hops, barley and other grains used to produce alcohol could be put to better use feeding the hungry of planet earth. I wish it were. Maybe that will take place on the day that all swords will be beaten into plow sheers. Speaking of beatings, when we focus upon wine, the fruit of the vine takes a severe thrashing itself within Christian circles, everyone trying to justify their viewpoint. In the Old Testament, God's Law allowed yayin (wine) and shekar (strong drink) to be purchased with the Tithe of Rejoicing and to be drunk before the Lord. "You shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or strong drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household," (Deut. 14:26). In the New Testament, all recorded prohibitions to drinking wine seem to refer to either (A) immoderate consumption or (B) to abusers: "Be not drunk with wine" (Eph. 5:18). "Do not be with heavy drinkers" (Prov. 23:20). "Do not be addicted to wine" (I Tim. 3:8; Tit.2:3). "Do not linger long over wine" (Prov. 23:30). Some say, "But we love the sinners and hate the sin." Sadly, even when this is true, it doesn't come across that way and, after all, perception is reality. Besides, where is it written that drinking is a sin? Now, I haven't had a beer since I was 19 when I drank six straight after working at a construction site in El Paso. Wine? My Italian family sipped it often but never to excess and its been about 10 years since I had a glass of Chianti with my spaghetti. Still, I don't expect my convictions to be anyone else's. When I'm sick, I don't care if the Apostle Paul DID instruct Timothy (1 Tim 5:23) to, "Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." Sorry, Paul, but I'll take Pepto-Bismal, thank you. That's my choice. Seriously, when all is said and done, I can't help but feel that we Christians must distinguish the use of these beverages from their abuse. Sometimes in Scripture, gluttonous eating is paralleled with immoderate drinking of wine (Deut. 21:20; Prov. 23:21). But we can find nowhere in the Bible where eating food is prohibited, thank you, Jesus! At other times in Scripture, sexual perversion is paralleled with drunkenness (Rom 13:13; I Pet 4:3). Yet, if ALL sexual activity were condemned, well...you and I wouldn't be here. Wealth often becomes a snare to many as well (I Tim. 6:9-11), but the Scriptures do not make a blanket decree against its pursuit (Job 42:10-17). Let's see a Word of Faith evangelist preach AGAINST the acquisition of money! That will be a cold day in Texas. Bottom line is that each of these factors in life is intended by God to be a blessing for us, when used according to the ways that HE intended.
Love one another? Jesus would drink to that! To the surprise of many, it would seem abundantly clear that the Scriptures DO allow for the moderate partaking of alcoholic beverages - wine, beer, bourbon or whiskey. By the way, I've had many friends in ministry who hail from England and Germany. I love watching my American Christian friends as they "get their knickers in a twist" when these awesome European Christians visit the states and order a brew with their Tex-Mex or wine with their poultry. The Scriptures pull no punches in commending wine, nor do they reflect any embarrassment when illustrating stories that involve its consumption in Biblical days. Wine is set before the saints as blessing and gladness (Deut 14:26; Ps. 104:14-15), even though it may be, to the immoderate and wicked, a mocker and curse (Prov. 20:1; 23:29). It would seem to me that all the self-righteous finger-pointing we engage ourselves in today does very little in the way of making the non-Christian jealous for what we say we've found in Christ, the One who turned the water into wine, His first miracle. Despite all the sincerity of well-meaning Christians regarding this issue, every time we point a finger, there are four more pointed right back at us. These fingers are those of the Spirit in operation - the Spirit of the Pharisees. The Great Commission, set forth by the Greatest Teacher, Jesus Christ, was to go and make disciples. As followers of Christ, are we teaching those who are watching us to condemn and even detest those who are not like us, or are we teaching them to love everybody without condition, planting all the seeds of grace necessary to make our faith attractive enough so that they will want run to Jesus at their own proper moment of harvest? After all, He loves ALL of us, despite the deplorable things we harbor deep within the dark recesses of our hearts. In fact, He loved us to DEATH! Love one another. Every blessing! Anyone in the world By Mike Singh When it comes to fishing reels, there are an abundance of options to choose from. Depending on the type of fishing you will be doing will determine what type of reel you will need in order to be successful. Aside from fly-fishing, reels have made many big changes when it comes to materials and function. Reels of today use finely crafted precision parts and this allows for precise and fluid movement. Many of the new fishing reels of today are build from anodized rust free materials and they are durable and well constructed tools. There are countless brands on the market today, when it comes to fishing reels. With the likes of Zebco, Diawa, and Abu Garcia on the roster, one can be sure that there will never be a shortage of options. Many of the great fishing reels that you can buy today, even come in accompaniment with a great rod generally of the same brand. This is where you buy a package and the entire setup is ready to go, all you need to do is thread your line spool with fishing line. There are a few choices on the market today when it comes to fishing reels; aside from a fly-fishing reel there is a spin caster and a bait caster reel. The spin caster reel is designed to pull a small tab, or wire frame back prior to casting. Once you have cast your line, as soon as you touch the handle from the reel assembly it will lock and give you the tension that you need to continue your reel in motion. These fishing reels are very popular, and anglers use these reels for a variety of species of fish. The spool on these fishing reels are of the open concept design and make for a rather easy affair should your line get tangled. These reels also make it easy to load the spool with line, considering these fishing reels have no encasement to shroud the spool itself. Bait casting fishing reels is basically of the same thought process however; the spool for the line is encased and is not visible. While the case does come off for easy line spooling, it can be rather cumbersome should you not be familiar with these types of fishing reels. There is merely one small button to be pushed while you are preparing to cast your line, making the bait casting fishing reels relatively easy to use. Once the cast has been made, the same process as the spin casting fishing reels apply. The line will lock once the handle for the reel in process is engaged. More often than not you will find this type of reel used by the big bass tournament pros, as it is a relatively quick fishing reel to use and it gets the line in the water quickly. Anyone in the world By Karin I Manning It is believed that France was the first country to discover the wonderful art of kissing and how to tongue kiss. Although the French are famous for inventing the French kiss, initially it was called the soul kiss because such a kiss is believed to come from the heart and of course the soul. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to tongue kissing but there are some tongue kissing tips and techniques that will make the journey extremely pleasurable for you as you become an expert at how to tongue kiss. Let me say that if you enjoy it whole heartedly and kiss with a lot of passion and a lot of heart most of the hard work is done for you. All that's left is learning a few French kissing or tongue kissing tips that will have your love interest absolutely melt in your arms. Here are some French kissing tips and techniques to help you learn how to tongue kiss starting today. The Secret To A Delicious Long And Slow Tongue Kiss When I think of the perfect movie tongue kiss I think of the way that Tom Cruise so sweetly devoured Kelly McGillis in the movie "Top Gun" with Take My Breath Away playing in the background. No matter how old I am, that tongue kiss has the same impact on me every single time. I feel like a teenager again every time I see that tongue kiss. But the fact is that real life is very different. You don't know if they want to tongue kiss you, you don't know how to tongue kiss, they are really shy, he has been giving you mixed signals, you are not sure if she wants you to be just a friend. The mere thought of tongue kissing a guy or tongue kissing a girl could have you feeling like you have just been through a train wreck. If you have never tongue kissed before you know you get just one chance. Blow it and they may never think of you romantically again! I once met this totally cute guy at a night club. This guy was hot. He was the best looking guy in the place, but when he tongue kissed me he was a total dud. It was the worst tongue kiss I had ever had with anyone and I've had quite a few. No matter how great looking he was, I felt nothing when I tongue kissed him and never wanted to see him again. That may sound terrible but that was my first tongue kissing impression of him and it wasn't good. What did he do wrong? His whole tongue kissing technique was terrible. The man had been married before, to a French woman too. Maybe when they were giving out French kissing lessons she was away from school. His French kissing style - well, there was none. To me it felt like I was kissing someone who had never been tongue kissed before and I then and there decided never to see him again. French kissing had always come so naturally to me but all of a sudden I realized that some people are natural born kissers and others just need a little guidance and practice. Here are a few tongue kissing tips and tongue kissing techniques to help you on your way. The Start Of A Tongue Kiss When your two lips meet keep them slightly parted (no tongue kissing) and press very gently against the other person's lips. Make sure you don't bump noses (but if you do just laugh) by tilting your head slightly to one side. The Beginning Of A Tongue Kiss French kisses, tongue kisses, tongue pashes, whatever you want to call them, involve the use of your tongue. Kissing is a lot like dancing. Your lips and tongues move with one another at the same pace in the same style. Just like dancing, you are following one another's lead. Once you have started kissing one of you will slip your tongue into the other person's mouth. Whatever you do, don't make your tongue disappear back into your mouth like a startled turtle; and don't let your tongue just sit there either. Move it around their tongue, gently suck on their tongue, chase one another's tongues around their mouths. Keep tongue kissing this way till either of you have had enough or you want to try a different type of kissing. How to End A Tongue Kiss To end a kiss finish it off the way it started; slow down the movement of your tongue, ever, ever so slowly move your heads apart, if you like press your lips against theirs one more time, look into their yes and smile. Voila. You are now on your way to perfecting the perfect tongue kiss and mastering the art of kissing. I know it sounds easy on paper and some more guidance and even photos would be helpful in perfecting the ultimate mind blowing tongue kiss. Wait! Don't give up your dream of becoming a better kisser. You can become the best kisser they've ever had and learn how to tongue kiss. Learn how to tongue kiss and become the best kisser she's ever had. Anyone in the world By Geoffrey Philp Everyone in my family had come down with a nasty cold/flu that had been going through Miami like those wildfires in the Everglades. We were walking around like sniffling, bleary-eyed zombies addicted to Kleenex and Theraflu. Pitiful. On Saturday after struggling all week with the over-the-counter medications, my wife turned to me and said, You know what you have to do, dont you? I knew. It wasnt that I was dreading making the chicken soup, but my new responsibilities at the college were taking their toll, and I thought about the mountain of work that I had brought home. I was determined that not even a cold was going to stop me from finishing the job. I reluctantly told my wife yes with the secret hope that everyone would have forgotten by the next day. But by the next morning, my son, Andrew, was downstairs with a list for the supermarket and his stern admonition, Dont forget to make the dumplings. Sometimes I have to remind Andrew and his sister that its called chicken soup, not dumpling soup. So, on Sunday evening after going to the supermarket, I pulled out my stock pot and made my famous chicken soup that my mother taught me how to make. My mother, Merty Synidia Philp, nee Lumley, was a country girl from a small town named Struie in Westmoreland, Jamaica. According to my aunt, Norma Lumley, my great-grandfather, Andrew Lumley, came over from Scotland to build churches in Bethel Town which is two miles from Struie. My grandfather, Frederick Andrew Lumley, was a baker/shopkeeper/bartender/ farmer/ village reader of letters in Struie. He also worked as a cook on a ship that traveled between Jamaica and Cuba, and he taught my mother how to cook chicken soup the way my great-grandfather taught him. My great-grandfather and my grandfather are a part of a Scottish lineage in Jamaica. As youngsters at Jamaica College, we used to joke that when the teachers were taking roll, you could go outside, smoke a cigarette in the bathroom, come back, and they would only be getting to the McKenzies after going through the Mac Adams, McDaniels, McDonalds, and MacDougalls. The meeting of Scotland and West Africa (I will only vouch for those two--who knows what else happened in my grandfathers bar on a Friday night?) down in Westmoreland tempered by the rigors of farm life and the daily chores of feeding the chickens, tying out the goats, and feeding the hogs produced a set of habits such as dependability, tenacity, and a certain fearlessness toward work and sacrifice that kept my mothers family together. For my mothers family to survive in Struie, they had to be ready for any opportunity that presented itself. My aunts and uncles had careers in fields where opportunities were open: nursing, law enforcement, and teaching. They did well in these professions because they had learned firsthand about dependability and sacrifice in Struie. Everyone on the farm was expected to contribute something. There werent any exclusive boys jobs (except with the bulls and hogs) or girls jobs. You had to help in any way that you could. This tenacity and attitude towards work helped my mother throughout her life. She began as a teacher, and then she became a legal secretary to one of the top lawyers in Jamaica. When she left Jamaica, she started all over again and eventually became a nursethe career she had always wanted. But she always stressed, if a job had to be done, someone had to step up to the job. If you couldnt do the job, you could help. This is why she taught me how to cook and to iron my clothes because the last thing she wanted was a worthtless man in her house. Everyone had to do something. So on Sunday evening it was my turn to do something that no one else could do as well. Whatever I brought home from the college had to be put aside for my familys sake. I made the chicken soup, Jamaican-Miami style with a whole chicken (skinned and quartered by yours truly), thyme (of course), onions, butternut squash (they only had some fenke-fenke pumpkins and the kids prefer squash), dumplings (the kids used to help me make them when they were younger, but theyre teenagers now and way too cool for that. But they did help to carry the bags in from the supermarket), carrots, celery, parsnips (added since weve come to Floridafor a little sweetness), chayote (dont make the mistake of going into the Latin supermarkets and asking for cho-cho, you will get hurt), turnips (I now have immense respect for the turnip since I saw the movie Last Holiday: Its not how you start, its how you finish), and scallions added just before serving. The soup may not have cured our colds, but it gave us a chance to sit down together and have a hearty meal with equally wholesome company. Well, not so wholesome. There was a revival of The Dumpling War, a family habit, which I hope our children will never share with their children. Anyone in the world By Barbara Rose, Ph.D. When the Connection Never Died Many people have deeply loved someone long after that person was not in their lives anymore. I have been through this, and I know how difficult it can be. I decided to write this book to help people reach understanding and resolution, both while reading this book and after, because the process I will share with you will enable you to continue to receive more resolution as situations, emotions, memories, and experiences change over time. Many times when we read something, it helps us in the moment. Then, old memories come up, old feelings, a song, or a chance meeting with the person you still love, and you may need more guidance to help you. There are higher reasons why we feel deep connections that time, a need for personal space, and physical distance cannot take away. There are also important reasons we go through these experiences. My greatest hope is that you can find the inner peace and solace that I have finally found even though the love never truly dies deep inside. I will share much, and bring you examples of what many different people go through, because this problem does not have a one-size-fits-all solution. There is, however, a solution that every human being who feels this way can discover, and revealing that solution is the purpose of this book. Yes, you can still love a lover who is no longer in your life, and you can get over the pain. This book is going to show you how. If I could do it, you definitely can, and I want to assure you that no matter how deep your pain, no matter how many memories pop up to the surface, you can come to peace. I will share all I know because that knowledge has transformed all of the pain for me. I want more than anything for you to experience this same inner transformation from longing, tears, and heartache to genuine solace and even joy. You might wonder if that is possible. Please keep reading to find the answer. I welcome you to the most healing inner peace you can possibly have. I welcome you as a friend, because I have been there too. By the time you finish reading this book, you will have all you need to get over a former lover even while you are still in love. Now, lets begin the process that will open your heart, bring you understanding, and give you a life that is filled with all of the inner solace you deserve. When the Pain Wont Go Away You have been deeply in love, and now that you are no longer with that person, the pain has surfaced and feels like a living hell. It burns and hurts, and you try to get over him or her with every logical tactic and approach you can think of. Perhaps you rebound and go to another person to fill the emptiness. Perhaps you numb yourself with alcohol, drugs, sex, shopping, work, anything you can think of, just to get over him or her. Perhaps you let rage come to the surface, thinking that anger would kill the deep love you feel. Perhaps you tried to cut this person out of your system with traditional therapy. Or, perhaps you cry, a lot. I do know firsthand how deeply difficult it is to love someone so much and to continue feeling that love long after he was out of my life. For example, after I brought through the book Stop Being the String Along: A Relationship Guide to Being THE ONE, I truly felt the love and attachment I used to feel for that one special man vanish. Then about a year and a half later, out of the blue, one night all of my old loving feelings popped right back up to the surface. I was shocked. I thought I was truly over him, permanently. But I felt the same love for him that I had felt years earlier. It was then that I realized real love never dies. I tried avoidance. I tried the classic "get over him" tactic. I forced myself to avert my attention away from him and on to my lifes purpose and joy. I tried everything! I would feel inner relief for a while, sometimes for hours, sometimes days, or even months. Then, out of the blue, the old feelings would surface again, and I would wonder why. I would think, "Why are my feelings as deep now as they were years ago, even when I thought I was truly over him?" I wrote letter after letter to God asking for answers, and the process I am going to share with you actually comes "through" me from God, who you can call Holy Spirit, Higher Self, All That Is, Divine Source. Whatever name you feel most comfortable with is fine: God as you personally understand Him or Her to be. It is crucial for you to know that all of those tactics to kill the love you feelavoidance, logic, "getting on with your life"all of those tactics do not work. I will guide you through this process to find out why you feel the pain to begin with and to learn how to transform the pain, because once you go through this process, you will experience inner solace. Anyone in the world By Lola Fontaine How Does Chemical Hair Straightening Work? With chemical hair straightening, the actual chemical structure of your hair is changed. The most commonly used chemicals are sodium hydroxide, ammonium thioglycolate, and guanidine hydroxide. Because the use of chemicals can permanently damage your hair (and can be dangerous as well), it is important to rely on a professional for this type of work. Before chemically straightening your hair, a professional stylist will first conduct a "strand test". The goal is to ensure your hair will stand up to the chemicals, and to further determine which type of chemicals are right for your hair. The stylist will then apply a protective cream over your scalp to shield damaged hair, and then rinse the straightening chemicals through your hair. Finally, a special conditioner is applied to relax the scalp. The end result is a permanent, chemical change to the structure of your hair. How Does the Sedu Hair Straightener Work? The Sedu Hair Straightener, on the other hand, uses patented ceramic plates, heated to high heat, to temporarily alter the structure of your hair through infra-red technology and negative ionic treatment. The Sedu Flat Iron requires that you clean and dry your hair prior to use, and it is necessary to use the Sedu Hair Straightener every day to achieve that stylish, straight hair look. If you aren't certain you want permanently altered hair, but want the same, gorgeous straight hair look, then a flat iron -- particularly the Sedu Hair Straightener -- is the right choice for you. Lola Fontaine provides beauty tips and advice on a range of topics, including the wildly successful Sedu Hair Straightener. More information can be found at GetStraightHair.com. Anyone in the world By Janice Wee How can you keep warm in winter? I remember the movie The Day After Tomorrow. Where the people were facing an ice age ahead, with temperatures so cold it could freeze your blood instantly. Everyone was working hard on keeping warm. They were hiding in a library which was really convenient. You wouldn't run out of things to burn in a library that is full of books. In their effort to stay warm, they kept their fireplace ablaze by burning library books, feeding the fire continually for that much needed warmth. A homeless guy who had to survive winter in the streets crushed up paper and stuffed his clothes with them for insulation. Insulate your clothing to keep the warmth in and the cold out. Crushing the paper trapped air. Air is a great insulator of heat. So that made a lot of sense. When it comes to staying warm in winter, remember 2 things. 1. Generate heat. 2. Insulate to keep the heat in and the cold out. To generate heat, most modern homes have a proper heating system. Just make sure you pay your heating bills. If you can't pay the bills, get your bills paid on your behalf. For example, if you are a U.S. resident, you can get free heating at http://www.cheapestsale.com/free-heating.html If you use an old fashion log fireplace, stock up on plenty of firewood in case you get snowed in. As for insulation, wear layers of clothing to keep warm. Start off with a base layer. The thermal underwear. Ideally, your thermal underwear should fit like second skin. The goal is to keep your body heat in. Pure cotton thermal underwear would probably work if the temperature is above 5 degrees celsius. Colder than that and you need something much warmer. Like wool. On top of the thermal underwear, you might want to wear a wool sweater and thick denim jeans or wool pants. You might want to add on a warm jacket or even a trenchcoat over the sweater. Depending on the severity of cold you might face, you might want to add more layers. Don't forget your gloves, scarf, woolen hat, ear muffs, and boots. If it is really very cold, you might even need a ski mask. Another trick that works for me and my kids is to apply a aromatherapy massage oil right after towelling dry after a hot bath. On a winter vacation, at the end of a day out in the cold, we were only too happy to get back to the hotel room where we would take turns in a hot bath. I would dilute 3 drops of mandarin oil in 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil like grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil and put in into the bath water. My kids loved it. I brought along some mandarin essential oil. I also made a massage oil by diluting 1 drop of mandarin oil to every 1 teaspoon of olive oil or sweet almond oil or grapeseed oil. After bathing each child, I'd rub him all over with plenty of this massage oil. When I ran out of mandarin oil, I used tea tree oil. The massage oil helped seal some warmth and moisture as the air was very dry. Drinking a cup of ginger tea helps you body fight the cold too. Drinking plenty of hot soup at meals warms up the body beautifully. Carry along a cashmere shawl, or at least a wool wrap with you so you can wrap that around you when you need additional warmth. Finally, huddle up close to a loved warm so you can keep each other warm. That's how our ancestors survived the cold winters when they lived in caves. They would huddle close together near the fire to keep warm. Keep warm in winter is a write up about various thermal underwear. Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Judith_Earl]Judith Earl Mobile phones have gone way ahead from being a convenient "extra" to being a virtual necessity. There are so many mobile phone deals available in the market today that choosing the best one seems to be a daunting task. These deals are constantly updated and within a month you find that there is a better deal available than what you had initially purchased. So chances are, you could save money by switching to a different plan or a different network provider. Competition among providers is fierce, with free handsets and free text message packages. Nowadays, people are jumping to buy the newest mobile phones and deals being offered by most of the major phone companies are adding fuel to the fire. These mobile phone deals make it more affordable for consumers to join the wireless phone revolution. Many of the mobile phone companies are offering deals such as free phones, free mobile phone accessories, free minutes or cash-back. These deals save you hundreds of dollars on your new mobile phone service. One of the best ways to find the best mobile phone deal is to do a search on the Internet. This way you can compare all of the deals being offered from the comfort of your home. In most cases you will be able to choose your service plan and have your free phone and other specials included in the deal delivered right to your home! For low to moderate users of mobile phones, a prepaid phone deal is likely to be the best deal. If you are on a tight budget, look for mobile phone offers with instant rebates. This rebate amount is deducted from the purchase price of the phone. Make your choice depending on your requirements. If you just want to make calls, you do not need a mobile phone with advanced features. If you are going to take pictures, download videos, music, and e-mails, you will need a model with the latest features like camera, large video display, MP3 player, and more. Look for a plan offering most minutes free per month and having the lowest monthly fee. Make sure to look for a plan that offers free long distance, weeknight, and weekend calls. This will allow you to talk nationwide for a long time at night and on weekends. Not all plans are available in all areas and some plans you choose do not offer the mobile phone model you want. So take your time and effort to look for the great deals offered. webmaster [http://www.xpert4u.co.uk]UK mobile Phone deals Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Judith_Earl [http://ezinearticles.com/?Great-Mobile-Phone-Deals-up-for-Grabs!&id=150664 ]http://EzineArticles.com/?Great-Mobile-Phone-Deals-up-for-Grabs!&id=150664 ambien health

Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Simon_Evans] Simon Evans Prescription drugs have become a normal part of life. In fact, the vast majority of older adults are on some kind of medication. Society has accepted the notions that as you age you need to take some kind of medication to maintain your health. Well I say PHOOEY! Yes, some people need some medications. I'm not going to slam the entire pharmaceutical industry. There are good drugs that help people overcome or live with disease. The problem is that drug therapy has become the first line of attack that physicians use against a disease. But in many cases, it is just not the right approach. There are several reasons why drugs are over-used. Drugs are easy First, doctors are overworked. They don't really have enough time to fully explore the REASONS for your ailments so that they can get to the cause. Instead, it is much easier just to treat the symptoms. Sure, they'll advise you to exercise and eat better, which is great advice. But it's much easier to write a prescription and send you on your way than it is to work out a lifestyle plan with you. Yet, in many cases, lifestyle changes can be the real cure. Second, many people visiting the doctors expect drugs and ask for them. How many TV commercials do you see that tell you to "Ask your doctor if . . . is right for you"? Those commercials work. We see them and identify with the pain that the actors are going through. We think we have some condition that needs this advertised drug. Unfortunately, parents taking their kids to the doctor for some ailment are the worst offenders. We demand antibiotics like they are water, which is another huge problem that I will save for a future article. Third, doctors aren't trained in lifestyle approaches to treatment. They are trained to diagnose and prescribe. In fact, only about 6% of doctors graduating from medical school have any formal training in nutrition. Furthermore, once they're out of medical school a large portion of their education' comes from pharmaceutical reps visiting their office. We need a prevention-minded system Now, most MDs are good people and are doing the best they can. The problem is not with the doctor. The problem is with the system and with the factors that I described. Over-scheduled physicians with over-demanding patients and a lack of lifestyle training in medical school. Add to this recent reports from misguided academic scientists that are touting the use of prescription drugs for preventative' use. Recently a group of scientists working on Alzheimer's disease talked about developing a drug that everyone could take to prevent getting the disease. Another group has conducted studies to evaluate the benefit of healthy people taking cholesterol-reducing drugs (statins) in order to prevent the chance of getting heart disease. Wooooaaaaa! Advising healthy people that they should take prescription drugs in order to reduce the risk of developing a disease must have some kind of ethical problem. It might be OK if the drugs were completely harmless, but every drug has some kind of side effect. Despite our high-tech approaches and egocentricities, we're just not that smart when it comes to drug design. In any drug therapy there is always a risk-benefit relationship. There is always some kind of side effect. If your risk of becoming seriously ill or dying from a disease is greater than the risk of taking the drug then take it. But please let's not get to the point where we are promoting prescription drug use for people that don't need it or are we already there? You always have a choice in life. Exercise your right to ask questions, especially when it comes to your health.
